First houses

Now we have almost finished construction of the first small cottage, so here we would like to show some drafts of creative facades of a 100 square meter house, which Vedapark has developed. They still need a few adaptations to fully comply with Vastu:

Photos from the building of the first Vastu cottage

The following pictures give you an impression of the construction process of a Vastu log house. In total it has taken about 3 weeks so far. Please find more details on the workplan here.

We find we have made a well proportioned and 'sweet' house fitting well in Nature. Next step is to make a glass or green house on the left gable - and then follow through with two sidewings connected to this house with a wooden walkway covered by a transparent roof. The three houses will make a U-form. You are welcome to go a have a look at the Vastu house now standing in Vedapark. JGD.

You can get your own Vastu cottage within a year.

The first house, now almost finished, is a pilot project where we test and learn the building process of a Vastu building. It is the middle house of the 3 in 1 house which we have presented earlier. So we foresee to follow up with more buildings. - Please note that we have new prices for building sites.

Within the building permission that we have now,  we can construct 6 small cottages, and  they have a good insulation for all year round use. You may purchase one of them and assemble it yourself with the help of friends. At Vedapark we will assist you in the process to the best of our ability. - A house should be constructed quickly and we can do this through mutual assistance!

The price for a  building kit (byggesæt) is 107.000 Danish Kroner (DKK) for a 30 Sqm house, and 70.000 DKK for 21 Sqm according to previous offers from the supplier in 2014. The size includes a 6 and 4 sqm open veranda respectively. It is high quality produced in Estonia which have a long tradition for log house construction. Now it should be within the reach of everyone to have his own house - with the present extremely low interest rate which, however, cannot be expected to last much longer.

So the 6 different houses can be owned by different persons sharing the same building site - this must be organised within the framework of an economic association or similar - if you have expertice and can advice us in this question we will very much appreciate if you contact us, thank you.

We are also supporting a group of  say 5 people who would like to built a big house on a separate building site, where they can live together in a collective or cooperative. A bigger house will be more cost effective to built compared with several small cottages, and the people involved and their friends will form the team who can construct the house over the summer 2015. This way may be an easy start where you later have the possibility to create your own Vastu house.

Thus every person or family in Vedapark can participate in cooperative living or have their own small (or big) cottage with bathroom and a kitchenette, and then there are fine and spacious shared facilities such as: cafe or dining club, living space with library, study and entertainment; lecture hall, hall for yoga and transcending. A common permaculture garden with vegetables, berries, fruit trees, medical herbs , spices and flowers. To develop the common facilities will be a shared project.

More log houses delivered from Estonia.

Now, we have detailed experience from the construction of a small Vastu cottage delivered form Estonia. So at this stage the Vedapark Association has obtained a good knowhow on building log houses, which we can share with you. We have found 2 other houses from the same company, and we think they may easily be adapted to Vastu measures and colouring.

Example of a great 71,6 m2 home
for a single person or small family. It is made of 70 mm beams with triple tongue and groove (not og fer). The house has kitchen, bath and 3 rooms with 55.3 m2 floor plan. Furthermore there is a covered veranda 16.3 m2 which can be developed into a greenhouse or glasshouse which is a great thing in the Nordic climate. Also there is a loft or inside balcony (hems) of 10.5 m2. You can find the floor plan here - (you have to press the button 'Hent grundplan' in order to open the PDF file).

The price for the building kit (byggesæt) is 189.000 DKK + extras for adaptation to Vastu. Price does not include the outer roof cover, insulation and foundation. Also there will be cost for the Vastu architect. Our estimate is that you may have a finished house for about 300.000 DKK for all year round living plus approx. 100.000 DKK for the building site unless you choose to rent the site long term.

The roof colour must be adapted to Vastu, which does not use black. In Vedapark we use golden/warm yellow

Example of a fine 147 m2 shared home  with 7 rooms
The house can be shared by 4 persons with a common kitchen and living room. Of course it can also be a home for a traditional family.

It is constructed of 70 mm beams with triple tongue and groove (not og fer) - plus 20 mm beams for the inner wall. Between the walls there is space for insulation.  Total floor plan: 73.5 m2. Further you may add a big glass- or green house at the Southern gable.

The price for the building kit (byggesæt) is 379.000 DKK + extras for adaptation to Vastu. Price does not include the outer roof cover, insulation and foundation. Also there will be cost for the Vastu architect. Our estimate is that you may have a finished house for 500.000 - 550.000 DKK for all year round living plus approx. 100.000 DKK for the building site unless you choose to rent the site long term.

Unfortunately, we only have a picture of a black house which is not a Vastu choice. Please imagine bright pastel colours like you see here. - Also imagine a balcony under the big attic windows, supported by 2 beautiful pillars - under the balcony you could have the main entrance.

You can find the floor plan here - (you have to press the button 'Hent grundplan' in order to open the PDF file).
